Annie M. Ethel Thompson, 81, of Huntsville, Alabama was born December 13, 1935. The lord called her home Saturday July 29, 2017 at her son’s house in Prattville, Alabama, after an extended illness, with family by her side.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, retired Huntsville Police Lieutenant James Fred Thompson, who she married on August 2, 1960. She is also preceded in death by three brothers: WC Bowling (Buddy, Dub), Edward Bowling, and Samuel Ples Bowling Jr., as well as two sisters Doris Ione Bowling and June Evelyn Bowling.
She is survived by her sons John Michael Meeks of Mentone, Al and Gary Samuel Meeks (Nancy) of Prattville, Al; five grandchildren Crystal Meeks Mulligan-Moore of Madison Co, James Michael Meeks of Beuna Vista Co, Andrea Allison Meeks Meads (Kevin) of Goodlettsville, Tn, Jason Samuel Meeks of Clearwater Fl, Lisa Marie Meeks Blankenship of Clanton Al; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and church friends.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville, Alabama. Family will receive friends Wednesday August 2, 2017 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. A chapel service will be held in the Spry Funeral Home Chapel at Wednesday August 2, 2017 at 3:00 pm followed by interment at Huntsville Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be given to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
