Bertha Mae “Bea" O'Dell, age 84, of Huntsville, passed away Sunday, June 12th, 2016.

She was born on July 7,1931, in Bristol, VA, where she later attended Virginia High School.

An active participant in her community, Bea was an American Red Cross volunteer, and the manager of the Carousel Snack Bar in the old Parkway City Mall. She was a former member of Hunt Memorial Church in Bristol, TN, but made Lakewood United Methodist Church her home after moving to Huntsville in 1966. Bea volunteered extensively with her church, including helping in the nursery, serving as a youth coordinator, and hosting many youth group activities in her home.

Beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother. She is preceded in death by her daughter Linda Diane Hickman. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Lynn O'Dell, and by her children: Daughter Julie Burns (Malcolm), of Ardmore, son Michael O'Dell (Amy), of Fayetteville, and son Stephen O'Dell, of Huntsville, and by her grandchildren Amanda Burns, Micah O'Dell, Anna Laura O’Dell, Clancey O'Dell and Mamie O'Dell.

Visitation will be held at Spry Funeral home of Huntsville on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. Services will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at 10:00am in the Spry Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow the services in Maple Hill Cemetery.
