Bobby Earl Patterson (Pappy), 76, of Huntsville, Alabama passed away September 15, 2017 at a local hospital. He was born on October 26, 1940 to TD and Mildred (Teague) Patterson.

Pappy was a retired Huntsville Police Officer. He taught himself to play to banjo and loved going to the beach. He also loved his church and church family.

He was preceded in death by his father TD Patterson, mother Mildred Patterson, wife Ruth Inez Patterson, son-in-law Jerry Richard, and grandson Devin Richard.

He is survived by his daughters Vickie (Mark) Blackwell and Karen (Richard Graves) Richard; grandchildren Stephanie Richard, Chris Blackwell, and Heather Blackwell; and great-grandchild Bryce Hale.

A memorial service will be held Monday, September 18, 2017 at the Huntsville Park Church of Christ from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm with Steve Mercer officiating.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the Huntsville Police Department Honor Guard.
