DANIEL RALPH BRETT JR.
Daniel Ralph Brett Jr., 56, of Athens died Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2016, at his home. Dan was born June 13, 1960, in Decatur, the son of Daniel Ralph Brett Sr. and Elizabeth Hamilton Brett. He graduated from Athens High School in 1978 and from Athens State College in 1983. He is survived by his daughter Brock Elizabeth Brett; former wife, Cathy Whitt Brett; aunt Mary (Larry) McCoy; cousins Bill Hamilton, Barry Hamilton, Bruce Hamilton, and Mike McCoy. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his grandparents, Martin and Tee Brett and Floyd and Prudie Hamilton. Memorials may be made to Manna Meal of First United Methodist Church at 208 W. Hobbs Street Athens, Ala. 35611. A private memorial service to celebrate Dan’s life will be held at a later date with honorary pallbearers Hamilton Blair, Dan Cargile, Mark Hightower, Gary Hill, Greg Lambert, Chuck Moore, Grover Sanders, Whitt Walker, Sanders Woodroof and their families.
