Mr. Franklin Delano Hodges of Huntsville, Alabama passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at the age of 77. Mr. Hodges was born on June 10, 1939 in Huntsville, Alabama and was the youngest of six children born to the late Mr. William Hodges and Ms. Sallie Mills Hodges Miller. Mr. Hodges was succeeded in death by his wife, Ms. Geneva Hodges and his siblings Mr. Clifford Hodges, Mr. Roy Hodges, and Ms. Louise Cobb.
Mr. Hodges served in the U.S. Army from 1959 until 1962. Mr. Hodges co-founded Hodges Pest Control with his brothers. Mr. Hodges was the owner Huntsville’s Southland Restaurant during the 1970’s and 1980’s. The experience and success from the time at Hodges Pest Control provided him with the inspiration to later found ATEC Pest Control, ATEC Pest Control Do-It-Yourself Supply, and Hodges Pawn & Gun.
Mr. Hodges is survived by his younger son, Mr. Bryan Hodges of Huntsville, Alabama and his elder son, Dr. Gregory Hodges and daughter-in-law Dr. Amanda Hall Hodges of Gainesville, Florida. Mr. Hodges is also survived by his older brother, Mr. Gilbert Hodges and wife Nadia.
Visitation will be held from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Monday, April 24, 2017. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Spry Funeral Home with burial afterwords in Huntsville Memory Gardens.
