Lola Moon, 98, of Athens, Alabama, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday.

Mrs. Moon was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Cora Maples; her husband, Herbert E. Moon; and six brothers and sisters.

Survivors include two sons, Glenn (Janice) Moon, and Jim Moon; four daughters, Linda Mooneyhan, Shirley Warren, Janice McCarley, and Elaine (Jim) Sharp; one sister, Kathleen Solman; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; and eight great great-grandchildren.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville where the family will receive friends Saturday 10:30am to 11:30am.  A graveside service will be held Saturday 12noon at Maple Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Kindred Hospice of Huntsville.
