Mr. Rayford Larry Smith, age 71 of Athens, went to be with the Lord on Friday.  

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Peggy Anders Smith; second wife, Virginia Smith; parents, Frank and Ossie Smith; five brothers, Jimmy Smith, Raymond Smith, Cecil Smith, Earl Smith, and Charles Smith; and two sisters Katie Wilson and Myrtle Keyes.

Rayford is survived by his two sons, Ray Smith and Randall Smith; three sisters Faye Dejong, Linda White, and Annie Locke; grandson, Larry "Junior" Smith; two great-grandsons, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville, where the family will receive friends Tuesday 10:30 until 12:00pm.  Funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm with Pastor Steve Spray officiating.  Interment will follow at Huntsville Memory Gardens.
