Shelby Gurley, Jr. passed away September 24, 2016.

He worked in Engineering at SCI, GTE and retired from Motorola. He was a member of Solar Masonic Lodge #914, Cahaba Shrine where he was active in the Motor Corps Unit for many years. He was of Baptist faith and his membership was at Brownsboro Baptist Church.

He was predeceased by his parents, Rev. Shelby and Bennie Gurley. He is survived by his wife and son, Linda and Michael Gurley, his sister, Dianne (Wayne) Miller, his brother, Ray (Sheila) Gurley. He is also survived by his daughter, Kay Ivy and son Chris Gurley and four grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Chapel service will be Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home with Rev. Alan Crawford officiating. Burial will follow at Valhalla Cemetery with Masonic Graveside Services.
