Mr. William Charles Neppel, was born September 6th, 1925 in Atlantic City New Jersey.  Bill, Passed away Very Peacefully on Thursday at Diversicare of Big Springs, Nursing Home @ the Great Age of 91, after enjoying such a complete and Greatly Successful Life!

Mr. Neppel was a member of the Class of 1944, ACHS (Atlantic City High School). Drafted in to the NAVY on November 11, 1943.  He went to Navy School, including 3 months@ Texas A&M and 7 months at Corpus Kristy, TX.

Graduating as an AETM-2C (Aviation Electronic Technician Mate - 2nd Class) in 11 months.  In 1946 he was Honorably Discharged from the Navy and went back to ACHS to finish his senior year.

Then in 1948 he attended Lafayette College in Easton, PA.  He graduated with a BS in Electrical Engineering in 1952.  In 1952 Mr. Neppel joined GE (General Electric) moved to Huntsville, AL.  In 1963 started to work on the APOLLO & SPACE SHUTTLE Programs.  In 1987 Mr. Neppel retired from GE.  In 1998 Mr Neppel retired from USBI.

Bill was a magnificent husband and father, with a great sense of humor that was only dwarfed by his tremendous “diversity of intelligence” that inspired all that were exposed to that incredible wealth of knowledge!  As he never stopped learning or educating other!  He will truly be missed by those who knew him well and those who just met him in their life’s path and were much better for it!  

Mr. Neppel was previously widowed by his first wife, Charlotte H. Neppel and then 40 years later by his second wife, Lola Joyce Neppel.

Survivors include his two sons, William C. Neppel, Jr and Robert C. Neppel; two step-sons, Jerry D.  White and Stephen D. White.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Spry Funeral Home.  A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Shriner's of Huntsville.
