We never met Zula directly, but she deeply impacted our lives when our 7-year-old son, Zach, was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Our world was turned upside down with Zach's diagnosis. He no longer could roam the neighborhood to hang out with his buddies, or spend the night at a friend's. Zach was "brittle," and suffered frequent seizures caused by insulin shock. We had to keep him close and check his blood sugars frequently. Camp Seale Harris gave us one place where Zach could have camp adventures and hang out with friends for a whole week each summer. We thank Zula and her family for making this possible.
