Betty Ernestine Ross Creighton, 87, of Huntsville, AL, formerly of Chattanooga, TN went to be with the Lord on June 23, 2015 after being in a nursing facility in Ardmore, TN after a brief illness. She attended Huntsville Bible Church and was a loving Mother, Grandmother and Grannie-Grannie, and will be dearly missed.

Ernestine was born on July 3, 1927 in Palmer, TN to the late William "Bill" Ross and True Sitz Ross. She was Valedictorian of the Class of 1945 at Grundy County High School. On October 26, 1946, she married Robert M. Creighton of Coalmont, TN and they moved to Chattanooga. In 1966 they moved to Huntsville along with their children.

Mrs. Creighton was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 57 years; two infant brothers, Billy H. Ross and Jimmie D. Ross, and Kenneth R. Ross, all of Palmer, TN; paternal grandparents, John Cleveland "Cleve" Ross and Cora Ross Smith of Palmer, TN; maternal grandparents, Frank Ernest Sitz and Maggie Nunley Sitz of Gruetli Laager, TN; son-in-law, Gary R. Smith of Soddy Daisy, TN; and brother-in-law, Sam Creighton of Coalmont, TN.

Survivors include her daughter, Susan C. Smith of Soddy Daisy, TN; two sons, Ross (Lorie) Creighton and Sandy Creighton, all of Huntsville, AL; three grandchildren, Amy (Raun) Alley of Soddy Daisy, TN; Stacey (Jamey) Lonas and Brad Creighton, all of Huntsville, AL; great-grandson, Randall Evan Alley of Soddy Daisy, TN; aunt Henri Marie Schaeffer of Moss Point, MS; one nephew, two nieces and several cousins.

The family would like to thank the staff of Ardmore on Main Care & Rehab in Ardmore, TN for the care given to Ernestine during the last few months.
There will be no visitation. Graveside services will be Friday, June 26th at 1pm at Coalmont Cemetery in Coalmont, TN with Brother Ray Winton officiating.
