Thomas Carl "Tommy" Hall, a former resident of New Albany, MS, and now of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away the morning of Sunday, March 17, 2024, at Crestwood Medical Center, Huntsville. He was 73 years old.
He was born April 12, 1950, to Carl Sanders Hall and Ouida Norton Hall. He graduated from W.P.
Daniel High School in 1968 in New Albany, MS, where he was an outstanding football player. He also graduated from the University of Chattanooga, TN where he majored in biology. He obtained his master's degree in Physical Therapy from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He worked in many areas of PT with the majority in home health where he was well respected by his colleagues and built lasting relationships with his patients.
He was a Methodist and an avid reader and history lover who stayed ahead of current events all his life.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents and a beloved brother-in-law, Ralph Guy Smith. He leaves his wife of 23 years Usha Katyal Hall, a stepdaughter Angela Maholtra, his son Joshua and granddaughters Virginia and Sherilyn; his son Matthew, daughter-in-law Allison Jansen Hall ,grandsons Evan Thomas Hall and Charlie Jansen Hall.
He is survived by his sister Sheri Hall Smith; two nieces Sherilyn Goode and Mary-Ouida Smith and a nephew Ralph Guy Hall Smith. He also leaves 4 great nieces: Sanders Goode, Brooklyn, Carolina, and Racquell Creasy; and a great nephew Robert Gray Smith Goode; his grand children Evan, Charlie, Virginia, Sherilyn; and his cousins Betty Robbins of Tupelo, MS, Billy Childers of Houston, TX, and Jim Browning of New Albany, MS.
The funeral service will be from 12:00 until 2:00 on April 4, 2024, at Spry Funeral Home in Huntsville, AL. At a later date his family will gather at a graveside service at the family plot at Wells Chapel in New Albany, MS.
