Allan Howard Cusack, 65, of New Market, Alabama, was born to eternal life on September 11, 2017 at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 7, 1951 in San Antonio, Texas, to Howard and Arline (Schmidt) Cusack.

He served as a US Army Field Artillery officer for 7 years, attaining the rank of Captain. After his honorable discharge, he worked as a logistics engineer and instructor. He was active in his church, a 3rd Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus, and an Assistant Scoutmaster.

Allan is survived by his wife Rita (Wojtak) of 39 years; his sons, Andrew Patrick Cusack (Jill) of Huntsville, Major Steven Richard Cusack (Alicia) of South Korea, Michael Allan Cusack of New Orleans, LA; and his daughter, Captain Katherine Anne Cusack McLaurin, PA (Major Adam Justis McLaurin); Grandsons Benjamin, Isaac, Maximilian, George, and William Cusack; Granddaughter Marianne Cusack; Brother Wayne Cusack; Sisters Carol Rheinlander, Janis Sutton, Karen Kindla, and Sharon Veatch. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Earl and Arline Rose Schmidt Cusack.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady Queen of the Universe Catholic Church (2421 Shady Lane Drive, Huntsville, AL) on Friday, September 15, 2017 at 3pm with Fathers Davis Kootala and Joseph Lebrano, SDS, officiating. Mass will be preceded by a rosary at 2:30pm, and followed by military honors and a reception. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
