Anna Wilkerson Obituary

Mrs. Anna Kathleen Wilkerson, 81, daughter of the late Frank Vetterl and Lillie Whitworth Vetterl Turner was Promoted to Glory on November 19, 2018. She was born May 17, 1937, in Jacksonville, Alabama (previously Bonniebrook, AL). Graduate of Hillsboro High School in Tampa, Florida. She was a faithful follower of Christ and a longtime member of The Salvation Army church where she served over the years as a Sunday School teacher, a member of the League of Mercy visitation team, faithful member of the Women’s Ministry, and a member of the Corps Council Executive Committee. She worked at Harris Home for Children as the receptionist for forty-two years.

She was united in marriage to the late Billy Wiikerson on September 4, 1960. This union was blessed with two children. Billy Wilkerson preceded her in death on January 31, 1983.

Mrs. Wilkerson was a very generous and loving person. She ministered to many people over the years reaching out to those that were hurting and loved them during their time of pain. She was loved by many, and her life will continue to be an influence on those that have come into contact with her.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: Tim Wilkerson and Joanna (Ron) Crouse; grandchildren William Keplinger, Kathryn Keplinger, Stephen Crouse, Lindsay Crouse; and a host of other devoted family members including nieces, nephews, cousins, and dedicated friends.

In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made in her memory to The Salvation Army of Huntsville, AI.

A Celebration of Life will be Sunday, December 2, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the Salvation Army at 2112 Oakwood Avenue.
