Carolyn Case Holderfield, 68, of Huntsville, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday night, March 31, 2018, surrounded by her husband and children. She was born in Athens, Alabama to the late Era Lee and Foster Wright Case on April 11, 1949.
Lovingly called “CC” by many, Carolyn grew up with 4 sisters and 2 brothers whom she dearly loved. She spent more than 35 years in Huntsville before relocating to Homewood 10 years ago to be closer to her grandchildren. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. CC loved spending time with her family and always enjoyed cooking for those she loved. She had a gift of hospitality, always opening up her home for gatherings with family and friends. CC was a true gift from above and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Era Lee and Foster Wright Case; and grandson, Jackson Wright Tanner.
She is survived by her husband, William Dennis Holderfield; daughter, Lauren Holderfield Tanner (Brian); son, William Case Holderfield; sisters, Amelia Speer (Pat), Wanda Merkt (Eric), Jean Jenkins, Joan Austbrooks (Ron); brothers, John Case (Susan) and Roy Case; grandchildren, MaryCase Tanner, Madeline Carter Tanner, Caroline Simms Tanner and William Brian Tanner. She also leaves behind numerous many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Family and friends are invited to a graveside service at 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 8th, 2018, at Maple Hill Cemetery in Huntsville, AL with the Rev Mac Buttram, officiating. All are invited to a celebration of life immediately following the graveside service at Trinity United Methodist Church (Wesley Hall), in Huntsville, AL. Arrangements have been entrusted to Spry Funeral Home.
