Carolyn Louise (Mitchell) Knight

Carolyn Louise Mitchell Knight, age 81, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, February 15, 2018.  She was born in Madison, AL to James Millard Mitchell and Iva Mae Berry Mitchell and was the eldest of three children. She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church and graduated from Emma Samson High School in Gadsden, AL in 1954. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved the Lord.  She enjoyed working in the garden, fixing flowers arrangements and cooking. But most of all raising her sons and spending time with her family. Carolyn was proceeded in death by her husband, John W. Knight Sr., her parents, James & Iva Mitchell, Brother in Law Johney Gargus, and twin infant grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons, John W. Knight, Jr. and wife, Nancy, of Leeds, AL and James Michael Knight and wife, Melissa, of Helena, AL.  Her sister Joyce Mitchell Gargus; cousin Marilyn Woods and husband, Danny; nieces, nephews, and loving friends especially Karen McGalthery and Harvey Dunlap.  She was a Grandmother of seven: Christi Hamblin, husband Justin; Brittney Birdyshaw, husband Hunter; Kayla Stephens, husband Blake; Chelsea Knight; Jakob Knight, fiance Ali, Great Grandmother of Landon Hamblin, Easton and Tatum Birdyshaw and Olivia Stephens.

Visitation will be held at Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville on Saturday, February 17, 2018 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm. Service will conducted on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at 2:00pm with Pastor Todd Noren-Hentz officiating. Burial will follow the services at Valhalla Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers are Jakob Knight, Blake Stephens, Hunter Birdyshaw, Justin Hamblin, Gary Woods, and Rodney McPherson. Honorary pallbearers are her four great-grandchildren and nephew Mitchell Gargus. We would like to extend a special thanks to Huntsville Hospital for your care and assistance in our time of need.
