Cecil H. Brooks was born on August 26, 1928 in Huntland, Tennessee.
He passed away on August 30, 2019 at the age of 91. He was a retired Master
Sergeant in the Air Force and veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars. He
joined the military in 1951 as a trained meat cutter. He finished his Air
Force career as a Minuteman Missile Silo Facility Manager stationed in Grand
Forks, North Dakota. He served God faithfully as an ordained Deacon,
Gideon, RA Director/Teacher, Bus Driver, Elder Care, Usher and many other
service areas of the church. He led as a godly example as a Father and
Husband to his family and peers. At the age of 15, he received Christ and
was baptized at the Lincoln Village Baptist Church.
He was preceded in his death by his son, Cecil Jr.; granddaughter, Julie
Terrell, and parents, Rufus and Bessie Brooks as well as his brothers,
Mabrey, James, John David, and sister, Inez Prince.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marie; sons Jerry, wife Shirley, and
Terry, wife Page; grandchildren, Shawn, Justin, Ryan, Ashley Yeager, and
their spouses; eleven beautiful great-grandchildren.
