Mr. Dale John Dugal 64, of Huntsville passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2017. Dale's father moved down to work on the rocket program in 1956. His mother, Ellen D. Dugal; Dale, and siblings, Walter and Ellen, moved down after Dale’s father was able to rent a house for them in early 1957. His youngest sister, Norma, was born here in 1960.  Dale attended St. Mary's and Holy Spirit Schools up through 8th grade and then went to Huntsville High School. He was a 1971 graduate of Huntsville High. Dale and Walter both were some of the Huntsville newspaper boys when the paper first started in 1963. All of the siblings swam for Thornton Acres Pool during the summers. Dale started his Scouting career in troop 93 but got his Eagle Scout as part of troop 361. He became a Boy Scout leader when his three children, Cassandra, Donald and Debbie, were growing up.  Dale spent 3 years at the University of Virginia where he met his wife, Liza, but graduated from UAH in 1979 with an BS in Engineering. Dale worked at various Aerospace companies through the years including Raytheon, Thiokol, Teledyne Brown, United Technologies, and Bastion. Most of this working career was in support of the space program in one form or another but he also taught soldering for two years and later, built mother boards for SCI for three years while earning his MS in Engineering.  He graduated in 2004 from UAH with his MS in Engineering.  He was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, coworker, and friend.   His favorite pastimes were playing with his (grand)children and reading.

Dale has been preceded in death by his parents: S. Dale Dugal, and Ellen D. Dugal, his brother Walter Dugal (aka Travis Morgan), and his son Donald D. Dugal who passed away in 2017. He is survived by his wife, Liza Bosley Dugal, his two daughters: Cassandra (KC) de la Garza (Edgardo) and Debbie Dugal, two grandsons: Maximiliano and Agustin, his sisters: Ellen Styles (Robert) and Norma Dugal Whitehead (Robert); two nephews: Michael Dugal and Ivan Whitehead; nieces Kathea Voorhees, Rosetta Fuller (John), Paula Osmer (Patrick), Jessica Styles, Valerie Morard (Ryan), Teresa Whitehead and many great nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Mr. Dugal will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at St. Mary of The Visitation Catholic Church from 10:00am until 11:00am. Service will follow the visitation at 11:00 am with burial afterwords on Valley View Memorial Gardens.
