Doyal J. Hyatt, age 85 of Huntsville, passed away peacefully January 5, 2019. He was predeceased by his son Stephen M. Hyatt, his mother Ludy Vaughn Hyatt, and his father D. Leonard Hyatt.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ruby Winkles Hyatt, daughter Carolyn Hyatt Bracken (Glenn), sister Martha Sue Fitch, brother Billy Wayne Hyatt (Stella), daughter-in-law Carol Freeman Hyatt, grandchildren Daniel (Dianna, Jason (Jennifer), and Dustin Della-Calce and Angie (Jerry) Kelly, 6 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Mr. Hyatt enjoyed weekends on Lake Guntersville, First Monday in Scottsboro, and antique car shows across the Tennessee Valley. He was the proud owner of many antique automobiles and a lifelong member of the antique car club. Most of all he loved spoiling and spending time with his grandchildren as they were growing up and the family trips to the lake, Gatlinburg, and Florida.
Doyal was born in Joppa, AL and moved to Huntsville in his youth. He graduated from West Huntsville High while working at the Russel Erskine Hotel. He completed business college at night and became a Certified Public Accountant practicing in Huntsville for fifty years before his retirement. He never met a stranger, his clients became friends. He was liked by many, loved by his family, and will be missed by all.
Thanks to the staff of Hospice of North Alabama, Interim Health Care, and special caregivers Jamie & Dorenda.
The family will receive friends Monday, January 7, 2019 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Spry Funeral Home. Graveside service will be Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at 12:00 noon at Charity Cemetery in Hazel Green.
