Elizabeth Williams Whitten, 93, of Huntsville died Sunday in Huntsville at Millennium Healthcare Nursing Facility. The funeral will be Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home with Dr. Travis Collins of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens following the service.
Mrs. Whitten was a native of the Groves near Port Arthur, TX. She lived in Huntsville since 1961 and was retired from First Baptist Church Huntsville as Director of Preschool Ministries.
Survivors include two daughters, Bonnie McDaris of Huntsville and Patt (Steve) Morrison of Houston, TX; her and son Dan (Sherrie) Whitten of Spartanburg, SC; and four grandchildren, Sonya (Jimmy) Creech, Michelle (Steve) Sorweid, Ali (Lee) Von Hofe, and Perry Houghton. Mrs. Whitten is also survived by eight great grandchildren; Abbi and Gabe Jackson, Broden and Eli Houghton, A.J. and Marin Sorweid, Adrianna and Owen Von Hofe.
Visitation will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Spry Funeral Home with service at 2 p.m. and burial following.
