J. D. Gibbs

After a long life, Mr. J.D. Gibbs passed from this life on Thursday, August 22, 2019.  Mr. Gibbs was born on October 30, 1925 and passed at the age of 93.
After growing up in North Alabama, Mr. Gibbs joined the U.S. Navy and served during WWII.  After the war, he spent several years as a farmer in Madison Cross Roads.  Later, he was known by many in the Huntsville area as a fuel distributor.  He was always willing to lend a helping hand and always enjoyed a good conversation no matter if you were a long-time friend or someone he just met. 
Mr. Gibbs leaves behind one daughter Elizabeth Lirette; son-in-law Paul Lirette; two granddaughters Kim Edmunds and Nicki Bryant; 5 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Spry Funeral Home in Huntsville on Monday, August 26, 2019 at 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. Services will directly follow at 1:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Huntsville Memorial Gardens.
