John (Jack) Franklin Lohenitz, age 82, of Huntsville, AL passed away Thursday at home. Jack was born to Peter and Lillian Lohenitz, August 9, 1936, in Coaldale, PA. He married his loving wife of 62 years, Fay Henshaw Lohenitz, December 23, 1956. After a career in the United States Air Force, they settled down in Huntsville, AL, and together they raised 2 children. He was a member of Riverton Holiness Church for 21 years.
He leaves as his legacy 2 children: Sherri Lohenitz Riddle and husband Dale, John Lohenitz and wife Lanier. He also leaves to cherish his memory 2 grandchildren: Britney Lohenitz Rutledge and husband Andrew, J.K. Lohenitz and wife Alyshia; 2 great grandchildren; Andi Grace Rutledge and Jack Rutledge. He is also survived by his sister Helen Lohenitz Linkevich and her husband Joe of Tamaqua. PA; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Jack was preceded in death by both his mother Lillian Lohenitz and Father Peter Lohenitz.
Visitation will be held at Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville on Sunday, March 10, 2019 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Services will be held at Riverton Holiness Church on Monday, March 11, 2019 at 11:00am. Burial will follow in Green Valley Cemetery.
