James Gentry Edwards

Mr. James Gentry Edwards 75, of Gurley, AL passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2018.  Mr. Edwards is preceded in death by his parents; Moses Brown Edwards and Ruth Christine Lampley, brother Ernest Charles Edwards, and sister Barbara JoAnn Willoughby.

He is survived by his wife Nancy Wainscott Edwards, sons; Kenneth Dale Edwards and Timothy Wayne Edwards, daughter in law Elizabeth Jenetta Edwards, granddaughters; Katherine Edwards Scott, Meagan Elaine Reese, and Josephine Dale Edwards, great grandchildren; Aiden Bren, Elljah Finn, and Layna Claire Reese, son in laws; Jonathon David Reese and Evan Cole Scott, brothers; Luther Bert Edwards ( Barbara) and MW Edwards (Wilma), and sister Christine Edwards Horsman. 

Jimmy and Nancy were happily married for 55 years. They had two sons Tim and Kenny. Jimmy was especially proud of his son Tim who served in the United States Air Force. Mr. Edwards loved the outdoors, were he enjoyed times fishing with his youngest son Kenny. He was a family man who loved his family and spending time with his granddaughters and great grandchildren. Jimmy retired as a superintendent with Consolidated Construction Company after 42 years. He was deeply loved in life and will be so greatly missed by all.

Visitation for Mr. Edwards will be held at Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville on Monday, July 23, 2018 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm. Services will be conducted on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 12:00 noon in the chapel of Spry Funeral Home with Bro. Thomas Presley officiating. Interment will follow the services in Valley View Memorial Gardens.
