James O. Woods

James O. Woods, age 79, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2019. A life-long resident of Madison County, Jim was born on June 6, 1939. He was the son of the late James R. and Lillie Belle Sisco Woods. Jim was preceded in death by his first son, James Arthur Woods, who passed in 1959.

He is survived by his girlfriend of many years, Marianna Patterson; his sister, Margaret Woods Gattis of Huntsville; his son, Daniel Pruitt Woods and wife Marilyn from Eva; and his daughter, Treasa Lynn Miller and husband James from New Market.

Other survivors are his grandchildren, Mary Ann Cleckler and husband Jonathan of Clanton; Gary Pruitt Woods and wife Jillian from Decatur; Jessica June Drappier from New Market; and Connor Drappier from New Market. He also had five great-grandchldren.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville, Alabama. A graveside service will be held at Bragg Cemetery in New market on Monday at 2:30pm with Terry Sisco officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the New Market Volunteer Fire Department.
