Jean Patterson Baites passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2017. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Edsel Howard Baites, her parents Mr. and Mrs. O.V. Patterson, her brother, John Patterson and two grandchildren Tim and Robin Baites.  She leaves behind two sons, Edsel Howard Baites Jr (Mary) of Brownsboro, John Warren Baites (Barbara) of Homewood, AL, her sister Lou Fowler of Hazel Green, AL, two grandchildren Kim B. Thomas (Keith) and John Howard Baites (Felicia) of Huntsville, AL , 5 great grandchildren, Blake, Taylor and Maggie Thomas, Ethan Baites, Chelsea Szynczak all of Huntsville, AL, two geat great grandchilden, Amelia Whitaker and Boston Shepherd, several nieces, nephew and many cousins.  She also leaves behind her dear friend Joan Sams (Richard).

Jean was a lifelong resident of Madison County and graduated from Hazel Green High School.  She was an active member of Holmes Street United Methodist Church.  Jean exercised regularly at the Senior Center and lived life to the fullest up until the very end.  She will be greatly missed by her family, her church and her friends and neighbors. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Holmes St United Methodist Church Building Fund.

Visitation will be held at Holmes Street United Methodist Church on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 from 12:00 noon until 1:00pm with services beginning at 1:00pm. Burial will follow the church services in Maple Hill Cemetery.
