Mary (Payton) McDaniel

Mary Payton McDaniel of Huntsville, Alabama passed away Wednesday at a local nursing home.  A native of Madison County, she was a member of Westlawn Baptist Church. After raising her girls, she and a childhood school friend were married. She retired from Genesco in West Huntsville, where she worked for 20 years without ever missing a day of work. She loved raising flowers and enjoyed working in her yard. Mary and her husband’s main hobby was fishing and enjoyed their camper while spending most of the time of the lake fishing.

She was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Bessie (McCamie) Payton; three brothers Aron Payton, Clarence Payton, and wife Pauline, and Junior Payton; and sister-in-law Edna Payton.

She is survived by her two daughters Mary (Brandon) Price and Judy (Brandon) Davis, two brothers James Payton and Bobby Payton and wife Faye, two grandchildren, and her dog Baby.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville, where the family will receive friends on Saturday, July 21, 2018 from 5:00 until 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be Sunday, July 22, 2018 at 3:00 pm at Spry Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and caregivers who were so kind to her during her stay at Millennium Healthcare, along with the nurses and caregivers at Comfort Care during her last days.
