Ormond "Buddy" Leigh Haughwout, Jr.

Ormond Leigh (Buddy) Haughwout Jr., passed away peacefully in his home at the age of 70 on Sunday, April 28, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. A native of Hampton, VA, he spent many of his formative years at Buckroe Beach before enlisting in the United States Army, serving tours in and out of country ending at Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL, where he set up permanent residence. He loved to spend time listening to music, telling stories, grilling, and playing his guitar with friends and family. Buddy made friends wherever he went with his quick charm and easy laugh, and was loved by all who had the privilege to know him.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Grace Lackey and his father, Ormond Leigh Haughwout Sr. He is survived by brothers Cliff and Bill Haughwout; sister, Darla Luke; three daughters, Logan Haughwout, Heather Lonjin and husband Terry, and Tara Shiflett; three grandchildren, Caitlyn McWhite and husband Jared, Payton Shiflett and Grant Shiflett; and a great granddaughter Harper. He was very well loved, and he will be greatly missed.
