For Terry Watson From Husband Robert Elliott
I had the pleasure of knowing Terry for a total of only 23 years. We were officially married in July of 2013 and only then did she finally start to open up a little to me. My only regret is that I did not get the honor of knowing her for an even much longer period of time. I only got a peek at the tip of the mountain, but I did not get to see its hidden valleys and pastures. God took Terry from me just as I was getting to know her.
She was the most-quiet, peace loving, and soft spoken people that I have ever known in my life. She was a perfect example of what is so rarely found in this modern world these days, and that is someone who truly cares about and respects other people: no not someone that says they care about people because she rarely expressed her views. She always saw the positive qualities in everyone and tended to ignore their negatives. She was someone that I knew and respected.
But, Terry had a deep secret that she did not share with anyone except me and a few very close friends. She was in constant pain from a ravaging disease known as Aplastic Anemia or Myelodysplastic Syndrome. She had Intravenous blood and platelets given to her every week, as well as other drugs given to her orally. She had no energy and petechial sores covered most of her body. If asked how she was doing she was always "fine", but that was just a little exaggeration on her part.
She never let her disease win unless she could not stand or move. Terry Pak Watson left a legacy of love and respect for others. I loved her very deeply, but not for long enough.
