Virgil Eugene Morris

Mr. Virgil Eugene Morris, 80, born November 14, 1937 in Charleston, South Carolina to Emma Jane and Virgil Odell Morris passed peacefully on Sunday Nov 11, 2018 surrounded by family, friends and his dog. He is survived by his wife Pat of 51 years, his daughter Stephanie Schmitt, her husband Werner, grandson Blake Landon, son Ryan Gregory and dog Maddy. He is preceded in death by his sister Sandra Bales and beloved toy poodle Princess Lady.  Virgil graduated from The Citadel (1959) with a degree in mathematics and obtained a master’s degree in business management from U.A.H. (1974).  His career encompassed the U.S. Army as a civilian, NASA, and various local colleges. Virgil loved animals, sports, music, storytelling, his family, Bojangles, and had an encyclopedic knowledge of trivia. To learn more about Virgil and celebrate the wonderful idiosyncrasies that made him beloved by family and friends, please consider attending visitation (3-4PM) and/or services (4-5PM) at Latham United Methodist Church Thursday November 15, 2018.
