Alicia Christopher Obituary

Alicia Boralo Trumata Christopher, 87, of Huntsville, AL/St. Petersburg, FL, passed away on January 28, 2024, in St. Petersburg, FL.

Alicia, aka “Alice” was born in the Dauin Philippines to Victor Tuban Trumata and Pelajia Boralo Trumata on December 30, 1936. She was baptized with the name Anisia; however, her original birth certificate could not be found as it was lost when the municipal hall caught fire. Her new birth certificate had a clerical error and hence she was given the name Alicia.

At the age of 27, Alicia married Navy Petty Officer Robert L. Christopher while he was stationed in the Philippines. Throughout her lifetime she had several jobs, most of which were taking care of others. She was a nanny and housekeeper, she worked for an electronics company in San Diego, and retired as a mess hall attendant on the Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville feeding the troops. The time spent working at the mess hall brought her so much joy as she was able to extend her kindness to the soldiers and often invited them to her home to give them a home cooked meal. Anyone that knew her and had her cooking fell in love with anything that she made!

Throughout her lifetime, Alicia was involved in many activities and always stayed busy. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, cooking and making sure everyone that crossed her doorway was fed or at least offered something to drink. If she knew it was your birthday or any other special occasion, she would always have a gift for you. She loved sharing her blessings with others and had a zest for life. She loved shopping with her friends, going to parties, bowling, crochet, taking boat rides, enjoying nature, praying, and most of all sharing the love of Jesus.

Alicia is preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Pelajia; all of her siblings, Paulino, Winceslao, Leonarda, Andang, Jesusa, Ambrosio, Vergelio, and Dionisio; her ex-husband, Robert Christopher; and her grandson, Casey Whitson.

Alicia is survived by her children and their spouses, Elaine and Chris Spatol, Darwayne and Cindy Christopher, Angel Christopher and Ray Hinkley; her grandchildren, Jon Christopher, Logan Christopher, and Jake Spatol; and many cousins and loved ones.  She had many friends who considered her their adopted mom and she loved them all dearly.

The family of Alicia, known to most as “MeeMoe” or “Mia” wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Fabelo and his team of care givers at the St. Pete Kidney Centers, as well as the team of amazing care givers at Suncoast Hospice in Pinellas Park, to Susan Streeter for always providing her nursing advise, and to all of her friends that kept her in their prayers over the years! A special thanks to the church members of her church home, North Hills Presbyterian Church who always kept in touch with her when she moved from Huntsville to St. Petersburg.
