Alta Jane (Rudd) Chumney

Alta Jane Chumney, 71, of Toney, Alabama, passed away on May 14, 2024. 

Alta was born on November 4, 1952 in Huntsville, AL, to Cecil and Lorene Rudd. She graduated from Lee High School in 1972. In her spare time, Alta enjoyed sewing and going camping. She was a very kind hearted and forgiving woman and those who had the pleasure of knowing Alta, knew just how wonderful all around she was. 

She is survived by her two sons, Richard Warren and Gary Chumney; and two grandsons, Gage Fernandez and Austin Chumney.

She is preceded in death by her father, Cecil Rudd Sr.; mother, Lorene (Schrimsher) Rudd; brother, Cecil Rudd Jr.; and sister, Rebecca Webb.

Services will take place Thursday, May 16, 2024 at Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM- 2:00 PM with the Funeral Service following at 2:00 PM. She will be laid to rest at Huntsville Memory Gardens.
