Annette Meeler Smith, 83, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2024, in Huntsville, AL, after an extended battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Annette was was born in Huntsville on August 26, 1940, and was the oldest of four children. In August 1958, she married the love of her life and husband of 66 years, Carey B. Smith. She was a devoted wife, sister, and mother.
Annette strove for perfection in everything she did. She graduated from Indiana State University, where she studied computer programming, and had a long, successful career at IBM.
Annette loved to travel, dance, play cards, and spend time with her family. She particularly enjoyed cruises and traveled extensively. She was also a gifted artist.
Annette is preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Rachel Meeler; her brother, Leslie Meeler; and her sister, Linda Dennis. She is survived by her husband, Carey B. Smith; her sister, Mary Rodgers; and her daughter, Leigh Smith.
Annette's sweet smile will be missed by all who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace, and may her memory be a blessing for all who knew her.
A visitation will be held at Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville on September 7, 2024 from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm, followed by the interment at Maple Hill Cemetery at 3:00 pm.
