Barbara Teters (Young) Hilliard

It is with great sadness that the family of Barbara Teters Hilliard announce her peaceful passing on May 23, 2024 at the age of 91.

Barbara was born on July 25, 1932 in Limestone County. She married her high school sweetheart, Billy Gene Teters, in 1949 and together they had one son, Jerry Wayne who died shortly after birth, and three daughters they raised together, Sherry, Karen, and Leesa. After the loss of her husband in 2003, Barbara married Malcolm Hilliard in 2016.
Barbara was a devout Christian her entire life as well as a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was her joy and she loved spending time with them and was always there for them no matter what the circumstance.

Barbara will be lovingly remembered by her husband Malcolm; surviving children Sherry (Richard), Leesa (Terry); grandchildren, Christopher (Nicole), Trey (Courtney), Jessica (Gavin), Stephanie (Daniel), Jami (Matthew); great grandchildren Cassadi, Avery, Patrick, Blake, Laney, Max, Logan, sister-in-law Connie Young; nieces, nephews, and numerous friends.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Price Young and Rachel Young; her husband of 54 years, Billy Teters; her son Jerry Wane Teters; her daughter Karen Nance; and her siblings; Billy Young, Peggy Davis, Linda Stapler, Gilbert Young, and Ronnie Young.

Family Visitation will be at Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville, 2411 Memorial Parkway NW, Huntsville, AL 35810 on Tuesday, May 28 from 2:00-4:00 pm with memorial service at 4:00 pm.
Interment will follow the funeral service at Roselawn Cemetery, 523 US Hwy 31 South, Athens, AL 35611
