Betty Frances Lewis Henson, 93, of Huntsville, Alabama, The Great-Grand Matriarch of the Lewis/Henson family, stepped out of her earthly body and accepted her perfect heavenly body and crown on, Sunday, November 10, 2024.
Betty Henson, our Nanny, was born on January 11, 1931, in Athens, Alabama, she graduated from Riverton High School in 1949, where she played on the girls’ basketball team, and was also a cheerleader.
On November 26, 1949, she married Ocie “Buck” Henson, and together they had two sons and one daughter. Through the years, all who would meet the Henson family, would soon know they were welcomed in their home, no matter the circumstance, and would experience unconditional love and affection, a warm bed, a coat, and a hot meal, if needed, all through Christian love.
Those family members who greeted her in heaven include her husband: Buck Henson, her parents: Cora and Field Lewis, two sons: Ronnie and Donnie Henson, Brother: David Lewis, Sister: Barbara Palmer, and Granddaughter: Mackenzie Rae Fergerson.
Those that will carry on the Lewis/Henson family legacy include, Yana Henson Fergerson (Michael), Grandchildren: Mindy Fergerson, Chassy Wilcox (Nate), Misty Campbell (Will), Jennifer Henson Bishop, Heather Henson Dalton (Doug), and Lisa Cowley Richards. Great Grandchildren: CJ Bressoud (Summer), Hunter Campbell, Claire Keel, Taylor Bishop, Hollee Campbell, Ethan Wilcox, Jackson Bishop, Marlie King, and Lucas Wilcox. Great Grandchildren, Bostyn Bressoud and Bear Bressoud. Brother: Bill Lewis (Ruth) Nephew: Steve, Bob, Phillip Lewis of Falkville, Alabama, and Jeff, Greg, and Todd Palmer, of Rogersville, Alabama, and their families.

You are invited to a celebration of life and legacy of our mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and most importantly, follow of Jesus Christ, to be held at her church, Second Chance Ministries, 120 Old Ryland Gin Road, Huntsville, Alabama 35811, on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 2:00 P.M.
