Betty Faye Davis Ratliff, 85, of Huntsville, AL, passed away on August 1, 2023.
She was born on October 2, 1937 in Huntsville, AL.
Betty was predeceased by her parents, William E Davis and Lucille Gurley Davis Jones; her brother, William “Sam” Davis; and her sister, Doris Jean Driver.
She is survived by her son, William G Ratliff and his wife, Sonia S Ratliff of Gainesville, GA; her granddaughter, Bailey C Ratliff (Ryan Dauenhauer); great grandson, Emmitt R Dauenhauer of Cumming, GA; grandson, Jayce B Ratliff (Dominique Ratliff) of Canton, GA; and her brother, Gerald Davis (Peggy Davis) of Valhermosa Springs, AL. Betty is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family. Betty's legacy will live on through the memories and love she shared with them.
The family will be holding a visitation at Spry Funeral Home on Monday, August 7, 2023 from 5:30 pm until 7:30 pm. Betty will lie in state at Spry Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm followed by a memorial service in the chapel beginning at 2:00 pm. Interment will be at Huntsville Memory Gardens Cemetery following the memorial service.
One of Betty’s lifelong passions was bowling. She spent almost 60 years working in administrative positions at Parkway Lanes and Bowl Madison (formerly known as Madison Bowling Center). She spent countless hours volunteering for women’s and youth bowling organizations in Huntsville and the State of Alabama. To commemorate Betty’s life and dedication to the sport and all the individuals she met throughout the years, the family will be hosting a celebration at Bowl Madison (8661 Hwy 72W; Madison, AL 35758) from 5:00 pm until 7:30 pm on Tuesday August 8, 2023. You are invited to bring your bowling ball and shoes (or use those provided at the bowling center) for open bowling, appetizers and snacks, and beverages to reminisce with the family and bowling community from throughout the years.
Betty Faye Ratliff will forever be remembered as a kind-hearted and loving individual. Her presence will be greatly missed, but the memories she leaves behind will continue to bring comfort and joy to all who knew her. May her soul rest in peace.
