Billy Dowell Gilbert

Billy Dowell Gilbert passed away on December 27, 2025 at the age of 88. He was born on February 13, 1937 in Hollywood, Alabama.

Billy was an avid bowler and was inducted into the Huntsville Bowling Association Hall of Fame.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Gilbert; mother, Dorothy Smart; sister, Nancy Pruitt; son, Bill Gilbert, Jr.; and great grandson, Caleb Blalock.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Dianne Gilbert; son, David Gilbert; daughters, Jeanie Thomas (Kevin) and Debbie Drago (David); daughter-in-law, Donna Gilbert; five grandkids; and eleven great grandkids.

Services will be held on January 2, 2026, at Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville, with the Visitation from 11:00am to 12:00pm and the Funeral Service following at 12:00pm with Interment at Charity Cemetery in Hazel Green, AL.
