Callie Olene (Swafford) Faulkner

Callie Olene (Swafford) Faulkner, 80 of Gurley, Alabama, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2020. She was born on June 11, 1940 in Madison County, Alabama. She loved spending her time watching Alabama football, Atlanta Braves baseball, fishing, camping and planting her yearly flowers.

She is preceded in death by her father Roland Swafford, her mother Mattie Holder, brothers James Swafford and Leon Swafford, and sisters Shirley Key and Barbara Moore. She is survived by her husband of 65 years Edward Faulkner, daughter Anita (David) O’Reilly, son Charles (Kelly) Faulkner, son Jeff (Jennifer) Faulkner and daughter Cathy (Jimmy) Boles. Mrs. Faulkner leaves behind 8 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 3 great- great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be Saturday, June 27, 2020 at Spry Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will be Sunday, June 28, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Spry Funeral home’s chapel, burial will be at Gurley City Cemetery in Gurley, Alabama.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to Spry Funeral Home to be paid toward funeral expenses for Mrs. Faulkner.
