Carla Camilla Ratliff, 70, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Born February 9, 1956, Carla built her life around the people she loved most. She was a devoted wife, a proud mother, and a loving grandmother. Her strength, warmth, and loyalty created the foundation of her family, and her love was unconditional.
She is survived by her husband, Eddie Ratliff; her children, Tara (Brian) McArthur, Meredith Carder, Troy (Eyra) Erickson, and Britney (Craig) Cardwell, Sierra Ratliff . Her grandchildren, Justin McArthur, Chase Colvin, Bryce (Josalyn) McArthur, Savannah (Matt) Church, Ayden McArthur, Cade Cardwell, Kye Cardwell, and Luca Erickson; her great-granddaughter, Amala McArthur; and her siblings, Donna (Phil) Hargett, Susan (Jan) Hammond, and Bryan (Marykron) McIntyre. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, whom she loved dearly and whose memory she carried with her always.
Carla had a spirited and loyal love for Alabama Crimson Tide football — Saturdays in the fall were sacred in her home, filled with anticipation, celebration, and unwavering team pride. She also enjoyed watching NASCAR, passionately following her favorite drivers and never missing a good race. Beyond sports, Carla found joy in clogging, a pastime that reflected her vibrant personality and her love of music.
Carla will be remembered for her steadfast love, her generous heart, and the fierce pride she carried for those she loved. Her legacy lives on in her children, grandchildren, loved ones and in the many memories they hold close. She leaves behind a love that will continue to guide and comfort those who knew her.
