Carolyn Joyce (Shaw) Johnson

Carolyn Joyce Johnson, 77, of Laceys Spring, Alabama, passed away on June 19th, 2026. She was born January 13, 1949, to T A and Amy (Dotson) Shaw. 

She is survived by her husband, CJ Johnson; her step‑mother, Joyce Shaw; her brother, Billy Shaw; her sister, Teresa Campbell; her children, Lisa Plater, Darryl Taylor, and Cindy Taylor Austin ; eight grandchildren; and nine great‑grandchildren.

Carolyn loved her family. She enjoyed playing billiards/pool, and she had a special talent for making sure everyone’s hair looked great, something she took pride in and shared generously with those she loved.

Spry Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements and services.

A Memorial Gathering of Friends and Family will be held on July 1st, 2026, at Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville
