Cathy Louise Bounds

Cathy Louise Bounds, aged 67 years, was welcomed into Heaven on the evening of September 16, 2019. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend and to have known her was to be blessed. She could light up a room with her bright and beautiful smile and her laughter was contagious. 
The epitome of a Godly woman, Cathy was a patient, kind, and loving soul with a servant's heart. Never one to meet a stranger, she was always ready to go above and beyond to help others and often did so. For her, strangers became friends and friends became family. She was always looking out and caring for her family. 
Cathy had a special place in her heart for children and owned and operated an in-home daycare for over thirty-five years. She treated every child as if they were her own; often looking after them well after they grew into adulthood. Her love for her own children and especially her grandchildren was infinite; limitless. She spent her life dedicated to raising her two sons with all of the love a mother could give, and later, extended that pure, overflowing love to her five grandchildren.
Her passing leaves all of us bereft and wanting, but she leaves behind a shining legacy of love, patience, and kindness in her two sons and five grandchildren. To say she was a unique soul is an understatement, she was truly an angel among us. She will be forever missed by us all.  
Cathy is survived by her husband of 46 years, Malcolm Bounds; sons Matthew Bounds (Heather) and Mark Bounds (Melissa); grandchildren Calista, Isabella, Addison, Lucas, and Jackson Bounds; brothers Wayne Rushing (Donna), Billy Rushing (Patty), and Michael Rushing; and sisters Karen Crosby (Dean) and Diana Rushing. 
Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Betty Rushing, and her sister Glenda Griffin. 
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Huntsville Hospital Hospice Family Care Facility.
