Charles Walter Andrews Jr

On Friday, October 9, 2020, Charles Walter Andrews, Jr., loving and devoted son, brother, and father, passed away at age 75.

Charles, affectionately called Chick by family members, was born on February 4, 1945 in Portland, Maine to Charles and Roberta (Griffin) Andrews. He served as an Army Medic during the Vietnam War. He received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Maine and worked as an engineer for Bechtel for more than 20 years. In 2001, he pursued his passion for computers and received an Associate in Applied Science for Computer Technology from Andover College.

A great admirer of Kennedy, he always put family before himself and reminded them of his love constantly through word and deed. His kindness extended to everyone he met and is fondly remembered by all who came in contact with him. He loved to laugh. Throughout his battle with cancer, his light spirit, wit and humor never dimmed. His humor is one of the many gifts he gave those who had the opportunity to know him.

Charles was preceded in death by his father, Charles Walter Andrews, Sr. He is survived by his mother Roberta Andrews; children Walter Andrews, Heather Hughes, and Jennifer Andrews; grandchildren Sydney, Emily, Owen, and Helena; great-grandchild Amelia; brothers Tom Andrews, Steve Andrews and John Andrews; and, sisters Carol Labbe, Bea Andrews, and Patty Guertin.

The family will hold a celebration of his life in his hometown of Old Orchard Beach, Maine at a later date.
