Cynthia (Szalasny/Norton) Givens, age 57, passed away suddenly, but peacefully on November 10, 2019. She passed with her family surrounding her with love in Huntsville, Alabama. Cynthia was born in Buffalo, NY on February 10, 1962 to Katarina and John Szalansy. Cynthia served over 20 years in the Air Force, retiring as a Master Sergeant, with her masters degree continued to work in the aerospace field. Prior to joining the air force Cynthia had two children Jillian (Norton) Plummer and Robert Norton. She married her husband of 28 years, Thomas Givens on August 24th, 1991.
Cynthia lost her father, brother, and mother all at a young age and grew up in Buffalo, New York. Once they all passed, she knew she had big shoes to fill and set out to do just that.
Cynthia cherished every moment she had with her grandchildren, Alexia, Alauna, Tyler, Elizabeth, and Ashton. She spent countless amounts of time going on trips and making memories with them. Cynthia has always been a magical person with a love for Disney and traveling with her kids and grandkids. She had a love for children and gave her heart to anyone and everyone, and would move mountains to help others.
She is now flying high with her father, brother, and mother.
Cynthia is survived by her husband Tom, children Robert Norton and Jillian Plummer, grandchildren Alexia, Alauna, Tyler, Elizabeth, and Ashton.
She was also a beloved sister of: Jack, Rose, Theresa, Karen, Diane, and Joan.
We sure didn’t have enough time but we will cherish every moment and memory we had with Cynthia.
“We will figure it out”
