He loved sports, particularly Alabama football and Braves baseball. He enjoyed following the Blue Angels and traveled to many of their air shows. Being outside and walking the mountain behind his home was his way of enjoying nature. He was an avid reader and a quiet, kind man of great depth. He married, Bessie, the one and only love of his life.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sister, Susan (Bill) Riley. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Jennifer Harwell. He loved his nieces, nephews, stepsons and grandchildren. He loved his dogs (Louie, "Tink", Harley and Jaxson) He tended them with much care.
