David Michael Mathieu

Mr. David M. Mathieu 66, of Huntsville, AL passed away on Saturday, February 29, 2020. Mr. Mathieu was a loving and compassionate husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He took pride in everything accomplished and was always willing to lend a helping hand when needed.  His 25 years of dedication and sacrifice for his country included time spent in the Navy and Army.  He received many accomplishments and medals along his path. His service also included serving in desert storm during the Gulf war. He was a true and proud veteran. David will forever be loved by those of us who will miss the joy and love that he brought into our lives and we couldn't be more proud of him. Along, with his service, he also spent 18 years working for Adtran with many great people who became longtime friends. 

He is survived by his wife of 45 years Donna Mathieu, son Paul Mathieu, daughter Colleen Mathieu, grandsons Alexander and Nathan Mathieu, 3 granddaughters; Brittany Mathieu, Bridget Ringer, and Katrina Shelnutt, 4 great grandchildren, siblings; Carl Mathieu, Eldred (Terry) Mathieu, Sandra (Ralph) Lumbard, Micheal (Fran) Mathieu, and several nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm. Funeral Services will follow the visitation at 5:00 pm in the Spry Funeral Home  chapel with full military honors.
