Edna Patricia St. Clair Hereford Martin, a lifelong resident of New Market, Alabama, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and grace. Born as Edna Patricia St. Clair, she lived a life rich with devotion to her family and community.
Edna was preceded in death by her first husband, Franklin D. Hereford, and her second husband, George Martin. She was also preceded in death by two beloved sons, Randal Hereford and Blane Hereford.
She is survived by her loving son Aubrey Hereford and devoted daughter and caretaker Beverly Bozarth (Frankie), as well as two step-sons, Granville (Donna) and Keith Martin (Angela). She was a proud grandmother to Beth Harris (Wesley), Jessica Schock (Jeremiah), Heath Hereford, Ashley McPherson (Adam), Aaron Hereford, Adam Bozarth (Brooke), and Whitney Cobb (Josh), and a joyful great-grandmother to 18 great-grandchildren who were the light of her life.
Special thanks to caregiver Susan Landers for all her love and support.
Edna lived a life centered on family. She was the heart of every gathering, a steady hand in times of need, and a woman whose warmth and love shaped generations. There was truly no better mother, grandmother, or friend.
She had a deep love for the simple joys of life—gardening, canning vegetables from her own harvest, and catching fish. Edna especially loved feeding and watching her hummingbirds, who seemed to recognize the gentleness of her spirit. She also had a flair for the beautiful things in life—she loved her makeup, nice jewelry, and perfumes, and she always took pride in looking her best. A woman of strong Christian faith, Edna found comfort and joy in gospel music, which uplifted her spirit throughout her life.
One of Edna’s most beautiful qualities was her ability to see the good in people—no matter the situation. She extended grace easily, believed in second chances, and brought out the best in those around her simply by believing in them.
Edna’s legacy is one of unwavering love, enduring faith, and a life beautifully lived. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
