Elisa (Conicella) Carlton

 Elisa Conicella Carlton passed away Sunday, January 15, 2023, at 79. “Lisa” was born to Giuseppe and Giulia Conicella on October 9, 1943, in Lama dei Peligni of Abruzzo, Italy. Joined by her older sisters Angie and Rosa, Lisa’s family immigrated to the United States when she was twelve years of age to Rock Island, IL. Knowing only the English phrase “Thank You,” Lisa earned her US citizenship and later graduated high school. Lisa was a loving mother, grandmother, avid Alabama fan, and award-winning bowler. In addition, she enjoyed fishing and was a fierce poker player. In her later years, Lisa expressed her appreciation for her online poker buddies Ben and Harry Sanchez, whose friendship made her smile. She is survived by her sons Edward Carlton, David Carlton, and Donald Carlton; respective daughters-in-laws Cherie Carlton, Heather R Carlton, and Heather W Carlton; grandchildren Jessica Carlton, Chase Carlton, Kristin Clauss (Brian Clauss), Evan Heusinger, Lana Carlton and Lance Carlton.
