Fay (Walker) O'Reilly

Fay Walker O'Reilly passed away on August 9, 2023, at the age of 96 in the comfort of the home she built and shared with her late husband, Terry O’Reilly.

Fay was born in Huntsville, Alabama on August 19, 1926. She was a graduate of Huntsville High School. Fay worked for Rocketdyne/Boeing, participating on the Apollo and Space Shuttle Programs, until she retired at the age of 70.

Fay treasured her marriage to the love of her life for over 70 years, who preceded her in death just one year ago. She enjoyed shopping trips, bargain hunting, and lunches at Miss Mary Bobo’s with her daughters and grand-daughters. Fay’s main hobby was knitting, which she proudly created afghan blankets for her 8 children, 17 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Fay was preceded in death by her husband, Terry O’Reilly; her daughter, Kathy O’Reilly; her parents, Vera Duskin and Gordan Walker; and her siblings, Gordan Walker, Jack Walker, Joe Duskin, and Joyce Scott.

She is survived by her children, Dan (Kathy Wood) O’Reilly, Greg (Anita) O’Reilly, Pat (Kelly) O’Reilly, David (Anita) O’Reilly, Mike (Mary Helen) O’Reilly, Beth Morris, and Mary Ann (Roger) Blaxton; 17 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Roofing Restoration Fund at Saint Mary’s of the Visitation Church, where Fay and Terry were lifelong church members.
