Gerald M Casperson

Gerald M Casperson (Gary) died peacefully December 29, 2025 in the Huntsville Family Hospice Facility in Huntsville, Alabama. He was born in Stevens Point, Wisconsin in 1939. Attended PJ Jacob’s High School in 1957 and then UWSP. Gary had a long career in the media industry and then more recently the banking industry before retiring.

He was proceeded in death by father, Michael Wryzinski; mother, Lillian Casperson; and adopted father, Steve Casperson.

Gary was known for his kind heart and sense of humor. He had a strong faith in God, was a loving husband and wonderful father.

He was survived by his wife, Janette Casperson; daughter, Mechelle Malmberg; son in law, Dan Malmberg; and grandchildren, Ian, Olivia, and Andrew Malmberg. He was also survived by son, Michael Casperson; daughter in law, Lara Casperson; grandsons, Ben and Charlie Casperson; brother, Robert Casperson; and sister in law, Kathleen Casperson

Michael Casperson will host a memorial service at a date to be determined.

The family would like to thank UAB medical staff, Huntsville Hospital and Huntsville Family Hospice Facility nursing staff, Chaplin Laura Lemley for her kindness during Gary’s final days, Father Tim and Father Charlie for their meaningful visits, prayers and support.
