Gertrude “Trudy” Armijo Cloud of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2025, surrounded by the people who loved her. She would have celebrated her 99th birthday in August.
She was born on 15 August 1926, in Roswell, New Mexico to the late Jose Otto Armijo and Rebecca Saiz. Mom loved to sew, knit and work in her garden. You never saw her without some knitting project.
She is survived by her daughters, Patricia (Jerrold) Scharninghausen of Dothan, AL and Janie (Mike) Bentley of Huntsville, AL. Her legacy continues through her beloved grandchildren: Jane Katheryn Bentley, Rachael (Spencer) Rohan, and Travis Scharninghausen and her cherished great- grandchildren Jake and Sophie Rohan.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Osceola “Bo” Cloud, son, Richard Evans and her 15 siblings.
The family would like to thank the workers at Grandview Gardens at Redstone for their compassionate care. There she dearly loved her Bingo and her card games with her friends. The family would also like to thank the support team from AMEDISYS Hospice. Their passionate care provided peace and comfort in our mother’s final days.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 19, from 10am to 11am at Spry Funeral Home with a graveside service following directly at 11:30am. The burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
