Glenda Lee (Travis) Soloman, age 89 of Brownsboro, passed away Sunday. A native of Skyline, Alabama, she was born to George Washington and Myrtle (Dolberry) Travis. She was employed by O'Hare Airport, Chicago, Illinois; Our Lady of Mercy Hospital, Dyer, Indiana; and Huntsville Hospital, Huntsville, Alabama. She worked as a private caretaker for many people in her life. She was also the owner of C & H Janitorial Service. She loved genealogy and family history and believed everyone should have fun and not work so much. She enjoyed canning, baking, gardening, spending time with her grandchildren, especially enjoys family reunions and family dinners. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints
Glenda was preceded in death by her loving husband Charles Leighton Soloman, Jr; daughter, Sandra Lynn McConaghy; son: Charles Leighton Soloman lll; two son-in-laws John David Maynard and Dennis McConaghy; granddaughter, April Lee Wright; and great great-granddaughter, Yenessa Michelle Lynn Robertson.
Mrs. Soloman is survived by her 4 daughters, Charlyne Albee, and husband Leonard, Robin Soloman, Tammi Soloman, and Jennifer Maynard; three sister, Joyce Olsen and, husband Garry; Daris Pleasant, and husband Lew, and Carol Langston; brother, Alton Travis, and wife Rachel; ten grandchildren, Tiffany Parrish, and husband Ben, Keith Albee, and wife Andrea, Tracy Hall, and husband Joe, Dakota McConaghy, and wife Kira, Kimberly Rodriguez, and husband Rolando, Denise Galloway, and husband Richie, Carl Virgo, and wife Sabine, Donald Morton, and wife Angie, Ricky Morton, and Tiana Soloman; eighteen great-grandchildren, Carson Parrish,Tyler Parrish, Abigail Parrish, Zackary Albee, Ella Albee, Jacob Albee, Brooklyne Hall, Alexander Mondragon, Andres Mondragon, Krista - Jasmine Potter, Alexis Glover, Christopher Glover, Hailey Virgo, Hannah Virgo, Grace Moore, Paige Morton, Emily Morton, and Amelia Morton; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Arrangements have been entrusted with Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville, where the family will receive friends Thursday from 10:30 until 11:45pm. A service will follow at noon in Spry Funeral Home's Chapel with Bishop Michael Nashadka conducting. Interment will follow at Travis Family Cemetery at 2:00pm.
